Layout traveled to the area and met people who live with rugs.
Layout will introduce the rugs inherited from these beloved people in a simple, easy-to-understand manner.

The rugs purchased locally are brought to our own workshop, where they are carefully maintained and finished by hand by our craftsmen.
The craftsmen check and repair the product, checking for holes, fraying, and serious damage.
I'll wash it properly
After maintenance, the rugs are washed multiple times by a cleaning professional, who checks their condition.
Washing vintage rugs is very important.
Because it is an item that has been used, you can continue to use it in good condition by thoroughly removing dust and dirt.
Our craftsmen check repeatedly for odors, sand or dirt stuck to the surface, and stickiness.

The local carpet dealer always says, "Don't worry, it's been washed." (laughs)
However, it is often difficult to know when and where the clothes were washed.
Additionally, because the condition of rugs can vary greatly depending on how they are stored, Layout thoroughly cleans them wherever we can see and reach them, and checks the finished product before sending them to Japan.
*Please be aware that rugs that are not properly cleaned may develop odors, mold, or cause allergies.

Once the rugs arrive in Japan, Layout staff check the finish and condition of each one.
It is also a job of balancing the difference in the sense of "it's okay!" between the local area and Japan.
Rugs that do not meet Layout's standards are inspected by our staff and then undergo further maintenance in Japan.
