Let's go to Shinagawa!!
March is almost here.
Although we are currently experiencing a cold wave, the footsteps of spring are definitely on the way.
Speaking of spring, PASS THE BATON MARKET is definitely on the agenda!
A dream venue where you can throw off your coat and jump in!
Yes, it's that thing that gets you in the festive mood at its peak!!
Layout is a modest festival organizer in Okinawa.
I'll be rushing to this festival for two days.
This time, we will be introducing begood, a "naughty rug" that goes beyond the boundaries of Layout, but is perfectly fine for everyday use.
And, if possible, I'll also introduce some unique items I've purchased locally.
Whether you make it in time or not depends on your motivation!
Yes, that means we have to make it in time!!
Please look forward to it!!
Tips for visitors
Rather than having to wait a while to register after finally reaching the entrance, we recommend pre-registering so you can head straight into the venue! We look forward to seeing you there!

What are be:good rugs?

At Layout, we want the excitement our customers feel before they get their rug to last forever, so we put a lot of care into the rugs we deliver.
be:good is a line of rugs that fall just short of that level of commitment, but are still perfectly suitable for everyday use and are full of charm. Layout creates rugs and shapes that are kind to people, so that you can enjoy them more closely, ``just as they are (be)'' and ``with consideration (good)'' without having to make any changes.
Of course, Layout is extremely particular about on-site cleaning and maintenance, so you can use the equipment with peace of mind.
What are Layout's special features?
At Layout, we want people to cherish their rugs as a loving partner in their lives that they can cherish forever.
That's why, in order to ensure that you love your rug even more after you get it, and to deliver it to you in the best possible condition, we are particular about cleaning and maintenance locally, and our staff check the condition of each rug upon arrival in Japan.
<Major checkpoints>
No holes
・Distortion is within 5 cm
No floating lugs
- No paint or dirt on either the front or back
・Gabbeh original type is over 2cm thick
・Other factors, such as the lag, will be considered and judged comprehensively.
We will introduce be:good rugs that do not quite meet Layout's standards, but are still usable without any problems and are good enough for everyday use.
cleaning
At Layout, we have our rugs cleaned by local dry cleaning factories, but since each factory has its own specialty, we ask different factories to clean our tribal rugs and Gabbehs.
There are a variety of skilled and not so skilled factories in the area, so we took the time to carefully select a factory that offers reliable Layout quality, checking the finished product.
Of course, in the future we would like to realize our dream of starting our own dry cleaning factory and creating jobs locally.
Cleaning rugs is very important.
Local carpet makers all say, "They've been washed," which isn't wrong, as rugs are always washed after they're woven, but we don't know when they were actually washed.
Vintage rugs in particular are often not in good condition, even if they have been washed, as they may have been stored in a warehouse for a long time or mixed in with dirty rugs, and although it is difficult to tell by appearance, they are often not in good condition.
Rugs that are not cleaned properly can have dust and other particles that remain on them for a long time, which can cause allergies and mold, so be careful.
<Stretch glue>
When stretching (molding) a rug, glue is used to maintain the shape, but some types of glue can have a pungent odor, and the odor can be stronger during humid seasons.
At Layout, we clean these rugs, but if the problem is not improved, we will not recommend them to our customers.
