『前を向いていこう!』

"Let's look forward!"

The story behind this rug is quite interesting, so I would love for everyone to hear it!
This is exactly what "the product of chance" means.

Speaking of accidental products, there's the story of ganache, which was created when an apprentice baker at a Parisian pastry shop accidentally spilled hot cream on chocolate.
As a chocolate lover, this is one of my favorite episodes because it makes me realize that failure isn't so bad after all - that such a smooth ganache was born from someone so clumsy!

In fact, this rug also has plenty of ganache-like elements.
A series of games of telephone and clumsy moves resulted in a rug that exceeded my expectations.

First of all, how did this rug come about?
We at Layout asked the people who always help us when we go to Mashhad to buy supplies, and we communicated our design image to a weaver in the town of Semnan, who wove this original product. You will never get the same rug twice.

If you convey the image in this way...

The design we asked the weaver to create was an old Kashgai rug that was featured in this rug book.
It is a simple beige and dark brown/gray color scheme with three diamonds in the center, a traditional design pattern from southern Iran, and I had no idea what the finished product would look like when I asked a weaver in Semnan, northern Iran, to create it.

A city girl with a neat and tidy look

What do you think?
The rugs, woven by weavers in Semnan, are typical of town rugs, with generous width and a neat, clean finish. The beige base is also beautiful.
The size is 196x139cm, which is perfect for a living room or dining room!

The cute arrangement works well

A rug may look neat from a distance, but when you look at it up close you can see many different things.
What should have been dark brown is actually burgundy, and the surrounding grey is pink beige!
Was the image sent to the weaver as a picture on a smartphone, was it printed on paper, or was the design sketched by someone else?
I'm not sure how the colors came across, but the cute arrangement gives it a soft feel.

This is also very attractive!

Still as clumsy as ever

Among the pink-beige, there are diamonds disrupting the rows.
It looks like we're closing the gap to the diamond in front too much, causing a traffic jam.

However, the small diamond-shaped one is too far away.

Don't fall asleep! You're stepping out of line.

Everyone is pretty much doing what they want.

The purity of the switch

Without even thinking about the fact that I'm in the middle of making a diamond, I just switch to burgundy thread.
"I'm going to go from here on out. I'm not looking back."
I read the intention.
Let's look forward!

Perfect match with wood materials

When laid on light flooring, it blends in perfectly.
The beige base makes the room look larger and brighter.
The threads are brown in color, such as burgundy and pink beige, so the tribal design is not too strong and adds a touch of elegance to its coolness.

This design is also available in a smaller size, 155x101cm, so be sure to check it out in our online shop ☺
