Hello, this is staff member K.
Today, as I write this column, is the last day of Golden Week.
This year marks the first Golden Week in three years with no restrictions on movement, so tourist spots all seem to be bustling with activity!
Of course, we can't be completely at ease, but it's good to see some exciting news coming out.
Today we would like to introduce you to this tribal rug with lovely colors.
The terracotta color, like red clay, is striking.

I really like red soil landscapes.
I think the contrast between the blue sky and the red earth is beautiful and attracts me.
Speaking of beautiful red soil, there's Monument Valley in the United States.
It also appeared in Back to the Future.
You will be mesmerized by the scenery that is just like something out of an American western!
This rug is set in Monument Valley, a place everyone would love to visit at least once in their life.
Is this a zoo?
The first thing you should notice is the abundance of animals.
This is a tribal rug from Shiraz, so it is full of Shiraz character.

In fact, Monument Valley is home to many animals, including rabbits, deer, and squirrels!
This rug really does look like various animals are roaming freely.
Look at this deer-like animal.
She walks as if taking light steps.
I can't see his expression, but he must be very happy.
Above all, isn't the way she shakes her butt just irresistibly cute?

There was one on the other side too.
This one has charming pink eyes and is looking straight into the camera.

And my favorite character is this one!
I'm not sure if this expression is fun or not.
The mouth is smiling but the eyes are not.
She looks stylish in her black clothes, high heels, and pink ribbon on her head.

There are similar people on the other side.
Although they are a little far apart, they are definitely friends.
They are a pair of girls with big voices and a strong presence, and they are cute and lively.

The kids we're talking about are here too.
A white, round animal...is it a goat?
Judging from the look of their mouths, they seem to be having a lively conversation.
I'm a little worried about the blue-eared one's neck...

Also pay attention to this creature with a big tail.
The different colors on the body and tail on each side add a subtle touch of style.
Is there any significance to looking up at an angle?
Before that, what on earth is this creature?
Rug is Freedom!
Let's look at the top of the lug.
This area is truly free and not symmetrical like most rugs. The feeling of freedom is the best.

The corners feature motifs like ♢ and octagonal stars.
It's very cute and seems to represent a lively and sparkling scene.
Let's take a look inside the medallion.
Lots of tiny flowers like sugar candy!
In the middle of it is something like a frame for reading QR codes... Maybe something good will happen if you hold your smartphone over it?

I don't really know what's going on, but four small animals are held captive.
If you get lost there, you'll never be able to get out...
How did it get in in the first place?
Maybe it's currently being raised and will break out of its shell once it gets a little bigger?
Monument Valley is actually a desert-like land, but it is said that not only animals but also various flowers bloom there.
As if to represent this, there are lots of flowers on the rug field and in the frame!
It's rare for the actual Monument Valley to be this crowded with animals, so we decided to call this Golden Week version "Monument Valley Holidays - Golden Week 2022 ver."
It ended up becoming a title like a big hit song, with different versions released every year.
I'm sure everyone in the rug is excited to be out and about for the first time in a while.
This rug will make you happy just by looking at it.
I hope things will return to normal soon so that we can go sightseeing in Monument Valley.
Let's not give in to May sickness and keep working hard after the Golden Week holidays!
