I'm MK, Layout's foodie head staff member who often compares rugs to food.
Not only am I a big foodie, but I'm also Layout's biggest idol otaku, and the other day I saw my favorite idol on TV passionately talking about the wonders of cream stew. She said that every time a curry special is shown, cream stew is crying in the background, and that there are curry specialty restaurants, but why aren't there any cream stew specialty restaurants? Why is cream stew only eaten in the winter, even though it's so delicious?! I'm the type of person who prefers cream stew as a side dish with rice, so I remember watching and thinking, "I know what you mean!"
Perhaps because the idol's passionate appeal was etched in my mind, when I saw this rug a few weeks later, the scene suddenly flashed back to me, and now whenever I see this rug, I can't help but associate it with cream stew.

I know I'm being too influenced by the base color, but the orange threads used here and there kind of look like chunky carrots.

If you stare at them closely, the carrots and their friends start to look like one-eyed creatures, and it feels like they're making eye contact...

If you look closely, you'll see that the top one of the vertical row of one-eyed aliens is cut in half.
Maybe she wove it halfway, but couldn't fit it all in because of the size she wanted, so she reluctantly stopped halfway... Or maybe she got bored halfway through weaving... It's strange how it was cut so cleanly and mercilessly. (lol)
But while she has that charming side, she also has a beautiful side.
It's hard to tell from a photo, so I'd love for you to come and see it in person, but this one has a glossy finish and looks bright when viewed along the grain (the direction the fur lies).

If you look at it against the grain (the direction of the hair), the color is darker, like a slow-cooked stew on the second day.
While most tribal rugs are red, beige has a different appeal. Light beige is an expanding color, so it has the effect of making a room look larger. This rug is highly versatile and can be matched with any room, whether it has a mature, subdued style or a casual, rough style.
Rugs, like cream stew, are often thought of as something only suitable for the cold season, but that's not the case. They can be used comfortably in the summer and will add a lovely touch to your room all year round. I believe that cream stew is just as delicious no matter what time of year it is.
This shiny, creamy tribal rug becomes more beautiful the more you use it.
