We are already in the second half of February and winter is coming to an end.
This is Hirai, and I was shocked to hear that the temperature in Okinawa is already approaching 20 degrees.
Even within Japan, the seasons and temperatures can vary so much...
We're not expecting temperatures to reach 20 degrees yet, but we'd like to get a taste of spring a little early with a Gabbeh blanket, together with everyone who is eagerly waiting for the weather to warm up!

Red frame on a simple field.
This is a long, slender runner-sized Gabbeh that at first glance appears to be a standard design.
As the weather gets warmer and flowers start to bloom, the deer are excited and coming outside!
Haruiro in full swing
The cute flowers around it are perfect for my image of spring colors!
When I think of spring, I think of cherry blossoms, but my spring theme colors are refreshing green, yellow, and pink. I don't know why...
The red sweet peas that bloom on the banks of our hearts are lovely,
I love the rape blossoms that bloom on the riverbank. My name is Hirai.
Seeing the bright yellow of rape blossoms, full of energy after surviving the cold winter, is invigorating!
Happy aura
When spring comes, it's warm and fluffy and it makes me feel happy.
The slightly larger deer also seem happy surrounded by flowers.
They are cute with their spring-colored eyes and sparkling marks that make them shine.
The aura of happiness is overflowing.

When spring comes, I want to relax and have a picnic in the park in the warm weather.
Watching the deer made me look forward to spring even more.
Do your work well and thoroughly
Not only is the spring design cute, but this Gabbeh is well made. Great work.

Let's take a look at the back.
You can see the weavers' personalities and work habits that you can't see from the outside.
This is an original type of fluffy Gabbeh, so the knots are not very fine, but the rows of horizontal knots are straight and not wavy, the weft threads are neatly woven in, and the back is also beautiful.
My impression is that this Gabbeh was woven by someone who is very skilled and does careful work.

It's thick and packed tightly.
When you hold it, it feels very heavy, and you can tell that the weft threads are beaten and tightened with the same strength and force.
I think this type of Gabbeh is a good carpet, regardless of whether it has a fine weave or not.
The Door to Spring
I tried my best to hold the slightly larger runner size, but my arms were shaking.

When I was having this photo taken, I realized it was about the size of a door. When I first joined the company, I remember all the DIY projects we did together and painting doors, and I was trembling with excitement, so I named it "Spring Door."
I hope it will be spring when I open this door.
This season, when new beginnings begin, is a fresh season that rivals the start of summer! I'm feeling excited!
I wonder if spring will come soon...
