"On the Night I Fell in Love with the Stars"

What I would like to introduce to you today is this rug that is so vibrant it will wake you up!

This is a rug from the village of Garaj, located a short distance from the northern Iranian city of Tabriz.

The first time I came across a Garage rug was when I purchased one in February 2020. I fell in love with it because of its two distinctive medallions, colorful color scheme, and the cool look it has when it ages.

According to local reports, the number of these is gradually decreasing.

This rug has only recently arrived in Japan, and judging from its condition, it is relatively young.

There's plenty of soft pile left and the wool is smooth and comfortable!

I can't give up either one! Two medallions

The first thing that catches your eye are the two distinctive types of medallions.

This one in the center really catches the eye, probably because of the large white area!

The red and white stripes are unique and cute, and will make you react instinctively after searching for Wally for so long!

The two navy-based medallions that support and accentuate the center from above and below.

Personally, I like the shape of this medallion.
After looking at it for a while, I realized why I preferred this shape!

It resembles the star-shaped luster tiles, which I particularly like among Islamic tiles!!

I particularly like the combination of this eight-pointed star, which has eight vertices, and the cross that fills the gap, and it reminded me once again that I've always loved this shape.

Some of you may have noticed that this is not an eight-pointed star! This motif also appears on tiles.

I really like this medallion. It doesn't have to be in the center.

The long-awaited birds

The Tori-chan motif makes you want to check it out. Don't miss it this time either!

Tori-chan, who can be found everywhere, has the perfect pigeon chest.
It's so big that I'm a little worried it might not be able to find the food at its feet.

Its center of gravity tends to lean forward, and it trots along on the rug.

Among them, I found my favorite scene!

The slim animal quietly watches over Tori-chan from behind as he happily picks up a white and yellow flower.

While on a walk, Tori's eyes sparkle as he exclaims, "Ah! Flowers!" He watches over them with a gentle, slightly sad gaze, like a grandfather gazing at his grandchild.

I'm sure you're thinking to yourself, "That's great. You found a cute flower."

Thinking about that story made me feel kind.

Recommended styling

If I were to lay this rug down, I would place it in front of the closet in my room. It's thick enough that I can take off my slippers and enjoy the softness of it under my feet.

It's gorgeous, so it's sure to lift your spirits!

It's packed with lots of intricate designs, so there's bound to be more to discover!
