Guided by the Dragon Palace

This may come as a surprise, but I like Tsuyako.

Who is Tsuyako?

Those who have watched Layout's Instagram Live may know this, but Layout staff and customers call rugs with a shiny pile "Tsayako."

Wool tends to become lustrous over time, so rugs with pile that has developed a lustrous sheen are often brought to Layout, especially old rugs.

The rug we are introducing this time is by Tsuyako and has a beautiful, supple, flowing appearance.

She is a beautiful runner who occasionally shines brightly and is captivating to watch.
It feels so smooth to the touch that it can be felt visually.

I want to get on this rug and go on a trip somewhere.
This rug has a soft and sexy feel that makes it seem like it could lead you to the bottom of the ocean rather than a carpet flying through the skies of a desert town.
Tsuyako looks like she is swimming, drifting gently towards the deep sea.
When I imagine it...ittan momen comes to mind for a moment, so I'd like to forget about it.
When I think about it, this rug somehow starts to look like the design of Ryugu-jo Palace.

Fantasy Castle

Ryugu-jo is the underwater castle that appears in the famous fairy tale, Urashima Taro.
Since it is a fictional building, I think everyone has a vague image of what it looks like.
Since it is at the bottom of the sea, it is a glittering, gorgeous and lively castle that stands majestically in a deep blue world.
That scene came to mind when I saw the red, blue, yellow-green, and brown flowers that decorate the frame of this runner.

These flowers are not elegant and mature like those found in Persian rugs, but rather round, cute and adorable.
To put it in perspective, it's like soba noodles.
Its appearance is reminiscent of old-fashioned sweets with a slightly sweet and gentle taste.

When these sobabouro flowers first start to be woven, they are bordered in a pale beige, giving them a refined look, but halfway through they switch to a lively yellow.

It's like an aha moment, the color of the thread changes so naturally, it's amazing (applause).
Just changing the color of the border can make a big difference in the impression.
The bright yellow seems to represent the glittering lights and moonlight reflecting off the sea.
You can imagine the joy of the weaver having found such beautifully colored yarn.

The grass-like motifs in this area seem to represent the plants (or seaweed) that bloom in the courtyard of Ryugu-jo Palace.

Since it is an old Japanese castle, there must have been many flowers planted there.

In the story, Urashima Taro was treated very well in the Dragon Palace, where a banquet lasted for several days.
How envious.
The thing crashing into the exterior wall of the building must be a sea bream or flounder.

Because it was a banquet, the grounds were covered with flowers, seaweed, and fish, making it extremely crowded.
Then it will crash into a wall.

I want to tell you again and again

I know I'm being persistent, but as I mentioned at the beginning, this shine when exposed to light.
It's like a wave slowly coming in and out again.
Just like the ocean, which gradually soothes the soul as you gaze upon it, this rug has an aura that seems to calm many things.

Surprisingly useful runner size

Speaking personally, I have a great admiration for Lanna's tribal rugs.
This is because when I went there last year to buy some goods, a store I visited had a long runner laid out in the entrance, which I thought was really nice.

The hallway from the entrance to my house isn't that long, but I thought it might be nice to lay a runner down the hallway and run straight into the living room.

It might also be a good idea to let your dog roam around the room.
It might be a good idea to use it along the stairs like in a castle. *Anti-slip mats are a must.

Some people say that there is no place to lay a runner that is nearly 3 meters long, but it is actually quite easy to do so.

The Tsuyako series has many fans among Layout's customers.
Why not try incorporating the sparkle and luster of Dragon Palace?
