Hello! We are gradually experiencing more and more warm days, and cherry blossoms are gradually blooming all over the country. The cherry blossoms in Nakameguro are not yet in full bloom! 🌸
This is a tough season for those who suffer from hay fever. Good luck! Lol (I thought I was immune to hay fever, but this year my eyes have been itching for some reason!! Maybe, just maybe, I'll get it 😢)
This time we will introduce this rug!
I'm sure many of you are familiar with this rug! It features a lion holding a saber in its hand and a sun shining from its back.

This is a motif that you often see, but do you know its origin?
In fact, it seems that this motif was depicted on the Iranian flag in the past (before the Iranian Revolution).
Upon further investigation, I found that the designs have changed slightly, with some not holding sabers and some lions wrapped in leaf wreaths, and they're all so cute!!
In Iran, lions are symbols of power and strength. There are also paintings of lions in the World Heritage Site of Persepolis. (I often see images of lions biting into horse rugs...lol. Speaking of which, Hey, from the Weird Rugs exhibition, was biting into a taxi rug too! If you're interested, check it out at the link below!)
Apparently, nomads in the past had never actually seen a lion, so they would sometimes weave lions based on their imagination. As a result, they would often weave lion faces to resemble men they knew, and there are a wide variety of lions, including a flat-faced lion (commonly known as the Hirataion in Layout) and an Iranian-looking lion with thick eyebrows! Layout staff are beginning to find ordinary lions unsatisfying. lol
There were many things about this Lion Rug that I was curious about, so please bear with me if you're interested.
This lion has a firm, tight butt and an outstanding figure.

The tail also stretches gracefully upwards, which is nice! It seems like it brings good luck.
The mane is so long you might ask, "How long does it have to be to grow it like that?" And the ears are so red they look like they're on fire!
If the sun is that close, your ears will get hot too! (laughs)
The culprit trying to burn the lion's ears is:

Taiyo is known for his neatly trimmed eyebrows, green sunglasses, and mohawk hairstyle with varying lengths. He seems to be particular about his hair, and his latest trend seems to be shaving the entire left side of his head.
Apparently, he himself is blinded by his own light, so he is wearing sunglasses.
It's almost like a hip-hop vibe with the "Yo! Yo!", but the lion keeps hiding and won't show its face at all! It's the sun, so it needs to rise a little more!!
Doesn't this lion + sun duo look like they're walking slowly?
Yes, this duo is actually walking slowly and bringing sunshine to the world!
The pace is so slow that it feels like morning never comes,
There are probably several Taiyo + Lion combinations, and each one is assigned to a different region!
Maybe the morning sun you see every day is actually this sun wearing sunglasses ^^
The size and color make this a great accent piece!
How about a lion rug for your home?
