"A dark rug for spring sleep"

Hello from Tokyo Layout.

In the last episode of RUG is GOOD, the staff talked about hay fever, but what about you?

I have hay fever.

My eyes are itchy and my nose is runny and stuffy. But I still love spring.

Although it is still cold, the scent of wintersweets is in the air, the sunlight is starting to feel like spring, and the tension in my shoulders is starting to ease, making me look forward to the changing seasons.

Spring sleep leaves me unaware of the dawn

Spring nights are so comfortable to sleep in that you end up oversleeping and not realizing that morning has come.

Don't you think you understand?

We would like to introduce you to a dark rug that will allow you to spend such a comfortable evening in luxury.

When you hold it in your hand, it is more dark brown than navy blue, and more copper-red than dark brown.

The S-like mark that surrounds the outside is a kermac, a small insect motif that acts as a talisman to keep evil spirits out. If you look at a lot of rugs, you'll be familiar with it.

They're lined up like yellow, blue, red, green... yellow?, blue, red?, green... but the order is completely off...

To begin with, I'm sure they're trying to apply the colors in a regular pattern. But even thinking that, in itself, is probably a selfish misunderstanding from the start... But when you look at the whole picture, it looks like the colors are applied in a regular pattern, which is amazing!

like!!

The one in the middle is a series of patterns that resembles the baked goods that have long been popular in some town in Europe, and the fact that it is oval rather than round gives it a rustic and lovely look. I also like how it fits neatly into the surrounding frame.

There is a small kermac in the center with oval patterns on either side, so I wonder if it represents a butterfly (the kermac is the body and the oval patterns are the wings), but I feel like I'm reading too much into it...right?

At the end of the weaving process, the artisan transitions to a plain weave using red, blue, yellow and green threads, which shows the artisan's attention to detail and the enjoyment they have in weaving the rug, making you feel a sense of attachment to the rug.

A rug that sleeps with you and wakes up with you

This rug, perfect for relaxing in the evening, has an overall dark impression, like the setting sun. When illuminated by light, the borders of the copper-colored pattern can be seen slightly visible on the dark blue background.

And the small kermacs appear dotted with faded colors like night lights.

When you turn off the lights, it's so dark that it will blend in and fall asleep with you.

In the morning after a good night's sleep, the combination of dark colors such as navy blue and copper red allows you to see the outlines of each pattern clearly, and your eyes will be drawn to the finer details.

Of course, the four-colored Kermaks also wake up in vivid colors.

When you wake up in the morning, you're sure to discover something new.

Light-colored rugs are great, of course, but dark rugs are just as lovely in a relaxing space.
