When I was a student, I hated all science classes, but I loved earth science.
When I was a child, I used to play with fossil excavation kits with excitement,
I used to collect a lot of minerals.
I still love going to museums.
When I look at rugs, if I see one with a layered design, I can't help but imagine geological strata.
The rug we are introducing this time also has a nice color.
To me, they look like fossils and geological layers hidden underground.
Let's take a look together right away!
First of all, there's this flower fossil frame.
The pop colors are not childish, and they add a touch of color to this rug.
Next is a swirling ammonite.
Fossils are usually brown or gray, but some glow red or orange.
It would be wonderful to find such colorful fossils in nature.
There are also dinosaur footprints nearby.
The small footprints opposite may be bird footprints.
Is the center a crater created by a large meteorite impact?
...So, could the dinosaur footprints we saw earlier be from when they were escaping from this meteorite...?
My imagination just keeps getting wild.
One of the interesting things about geology is that it allows us to guess the environment at the time.
The way the designs are layered like this really does look like geological strata.
And what I love about this rug is the kilim end.
The overall color scheme is bold, but the off-white base kilim ends add a slightly softer impression.
On the light, almost white, wooden floor,
This is a piece that you'll want to match with a black or brown leather sofa.
The layers of rock and fossils formed over a long period of time,
A rug that you can enjoy as it changes over the course of decades.
Although it is an order of magnitude larger than the length of time,
I feel like there's a vague similarity between them.
Just imagining the background of something that is full of history is exciting.
