"After the baton pass..."

I have some thoughts about this rug.
I've recently become obsessed with rugs made by people living in southern Iran, and this rug really gets me thinking.

If I could meet the person who wove this rug, what would I ask them?

" Do you change weavers midway through?"

Let's take a look at this step by step, imagining the feelings of the weaver as she weaves, until we arrive at this question!

If you look at this rug as a whole, you can see five slightly large diamonds in the four corners and in the middle.

The beginning (the lower part where I started weaving the rug) looks really good. The color scheme is different on the left and right sides, which is very stylish!
Don't forget to include a wolf or some other motif in between, and the balance is perfect.

Weave it a little higher and don't forget to have some fun.

There are several different ball-like designs that follow, but this is where the first difficult part comes in.

"The thread I used for the field (base part) is gone!"

I had planned to use this pale red thread quite extensively, but it ran out quite quickly.

But this is expected. It happens often, so substitute it with a similar red thread.

I decided to continue with this thread, but after weaving a few layers, I found that the color was darker than I expected, and I thought, "This is no good. I need a lighter red!"

It almost went dark at one point but came back to a lighter color.

I think this color will last about half the time, so I'll move forward.

This is where the problem begins.

When you think, "It's about time to add a diamond in the middle," you'll probably...

I think they thought, "Can someone please take over for a bit?"

Suspicion 1: Something seems strange about the diamond in the center.

The shape is clearly different from the two beautiful diamonds below.
The jagged gaps around the diamond were supposed to be a basic red, but they decided to make them orange! That's a laid-back approach, and I feel a bit closer to them.

It's starting to look a bit messy overall. It would be a different story if only the middle was messy, but this form continues all the way to the last two diamonds.

After all, you just replaced someone, right?

Suspicion 2: He started adding his favorite motifs ad-libbed

If it was just the diamond shape, I might think it was a bit of a mistake, but there's one other thing that bothers me.

The fruit-bearing tree design that is often used on outer borders now appears on the field.

The person who replaced him must have liked this motif.

There hadn't been any sign of it coming in until just now, so I still think it's suspicious.

With these two suspicions raised, I arrived at the question, "Did the weaver change at some point?"

Since you've come all this way, please stay with us until we reach the final goal!

The raging rainbow zone, the raging red thread, the change zone.

Finally, we'll take this opportunity to change the color.

It looks like a rainbow, isn't it wonderful?

After the rainbow, we reached the finish line at a unified border as if nothing had happened.

Was this a handover from your predecessor, Ori-san, who told you to "make sure you follow the rules for the borders"?

So, this Shiraz rug shows a dizzying array of different styles in one piece, but what I wanted to convey is that this rug is super fun and charming!!

There are different ways to enjoy rugs, but I love to fantasize about what happened when the rug was woven like this.

This rug has a strong old-fashioned feel and is slightly damaged, but it will look incredibly cool when laid out in your room.

However, I think that while he is cool, he would be even more attractive if he also had a playful (this is just my imagination!) side.

It's the kind of kids you just can't take your eyes off of.
