"SAKURADENBU Gabbeh"

Now, the cherry blossom season along the Meguro River has come to an end.
This year, many cherry blossoms have bloomed, bringing with them the exciting arrival of spring.

Layout also had a Gabbeh piece decorating the store, giving a sense of the arrival of spring.
This time I would like to introduce this beautiful pink Gabbeh that looks like cherry blossom denbu.

What do you associate with a single-colored Gabbeh? I have a feeling this discussion will go off on a tangent, but I hope you will stay with me until the end.

But it's a beautiful pink color

This lovely Gabbeh is a gorgeous pink that will make you feel lighter and more gentle. If I were to name this Gabbeh, I would call it "Pink Mozart with Petals Dancing in the Spring Breeze."
(If you understand, you're from the Showa era, right? Welcome.)
Also, there are many popular songs and celebrities from the Showa era that are somehow associated with pink, such as Pink Lady, Pink Telephone, and Pink Breath.

Gabbehs are very popular, and I love them too (if you look around my room, you'll see a lot of Gabbehs!). What's most special about them is not just how soft and fluffy they are, but also how stable and cozy they are when you lie down on them. It feels like lying on a cloud (although I've never actually lain down on one).
It also feels like I'm being celebrated by the sheep. (I've never been that way though.)
Wool is also excellent at regulating temperature and humidity, making it comfortable all year round! So you won't have to worry about summer coming up.

Back then, when I was still fresh and had only been working for about 2 or 3 months,
The first team laid rugs on the grass for a photo shoot under the scorching sun. (Layout Team)
I still remember the excitement I felt when I lay down on the Gabbeh in the bright sunshine and it greeted me with a cool welcome.
Needless to say, from that day on, I started sharing my experience that wool rugs are the best (because they keep the temperature at around 20 degrees). They were several times cooler than the grass.
But that's true.
Even the Dachou Club would be surprised if the Gabbeh rugs used by Iranian nomads as part of their daily lives were hot in the blazing sun, and even Banana would be surprised if they froze in the middle of winter and you could hammer nails into them.

And the fantasy begins...

In my previous RUG IS GOOD, Gabbeh is featured, which is likened to a national character.
Why? Perhaps it is the feeling of being enveloped in the thickness and simple gentleness of Gabbeh that tickles the heart and evokes a sense of nostalgia.

I'm a giant 〇〇rag. If you'd like, please read my previous posts.

The girl who loves baths

So, who does this pink Gabbeh remind you of?
I'm sure you all understand by now.
When you think of pink, don't you think of Shizuka Minamoto, the eternal idol of girls who loves baths and is mistakenly thought by Nobita to be either "a very clean freak" or "a very dirty person"?
Shizuka is a very kind-hearted girl (just like this Gabbeh) and has a gentle side, but she is also a cute little devil who spits out with her cute face, "No matter how stupid you are, it's a shame to make someone happy and then disappoint them," and when Nobita says, "Don't worry. I'm with you," she replies, "That's why I'm worried."
This gap is incredibly intriguing.

Now, let's get back to this Gabbeh.
This Gabbeh is thick and has neatly aligned knots.

Lie down on it and you'll be transported to the depths of sleep.
Gabbeh woven in a faraway land somehow makes me feel nostalgic and comforted...

Although pale pink may seem unique, it's actually a versatile color that can be easily combined with any other color. It blends seamlessly with similar colors like red and purple, creating a gentle harmony when combined with black, dark brown, or dark gray. It also creates a unique and impactful space by adding a little emphasis to familiar colors like beige and white.

Emphasis and cooperation... this Gabbeh really brings to mind the image of Shizuka as a reliable and kind-hearted girl.
Another highlight is that the edges are "Dorami-chan" colored.

I just tried doing something like this.

If you think one color is a little lonely, we recommend this.
Enjoy your interior design by layering a chair mat with your favorite design on top of the Gabbeh. Try matching it with a Gabbeh in a more mature, subdued color.
It instantly transforms into a cute, adult Gabbeh.
But here comes my usual bad habit.

So, what do you think of when you see these two colors?

Yes, I tried having Doraemon and Gian lie down on the Shizuka-chan rug.
She is a very tolerant girl. No matter what color she wears, she will embrace everything softly. The Gabbeh is as perfect as Dekisugi's. (I forced it to appear.) I can't help but play with the Gabbeh...
Shizuka also said, "Sometimes, it's human nature to do things that don't make sense." I was told this by an elementary school girl, so I'd like to end this issue of RUG IS GOOD with this.

This light pink solid color type is quite rare among Gabbehs, so why not try incorporating some soft spring colors into your room?
You may be enveloped in the same warmth and kindness that Shizuka-chan greets you with every day.
