How I found out about Layout
I searched for "Okinawa rugs" and found out that Layout had opened in Okinawa, so I went there right away.
I've known about the Nakameguro store for a while.
What made you want a rug?
The floor is concrete so I wanted to add some warmth, and I had seen a picture of a cool rug in a magazine and had been longing for one.
The deciding factor in choosing the rug
I told them my preferences and desired size and they showed me several rugs.
The color and aging made it a love at first sight.
My impressions after laying the rug
Since this is our second home, we wanted to create a sense of the extraordinary, so we used only concrete blocks and concrete in the room, which made it feel a bit too inorganic, but by laying down the rug, it feels like the monochrome world has been instantly infused with color. It has become the focal point of the room.
