Rug given as a gift to a child

"Looking for a rug to give to a child"

Hello!

I won the lottery four years ago, so I'm now playing the role of owner.

Lately I've been trying not to make eye contact with the staff because I feel like I'm about to be replaced, but will I be able to get through this?

Well, what I'd like to introduce to you today is Kashgai rugs.

I came across it and bought it about two years ago in a shop selling new tribal rugs in a bazaar in Tehran.

This time, I visited the shop to find a rug that I wanted my 4-year-old son to keep even after he grew up, telling him, "This rug is yours, so take good care of it." As expected, I was able to find a rug that fit my image! And two rugs in fact!

I agonized over it for a long time, but both were equally good, so in the end I thought, "I have no choice but to let my son decide!" and decided to buy both and let my son choose in Japan.

The son, who had no idea about his parents' dilemma, simply pointed to the rug and said, "This is it!"

In the house we moved into in March this year, he is now active in front of the TV.

"Favorite Points"

That was a long introduction, but the first thing I like about this rug is the color scheme.

The fact that it uses my favorite color, orange, really draws me in, but the use of a lot of beige also makes it look much brighter.

I think this is a slightly unusual color combination for Kashgai, which often uses navy blue and red.

And design.

There are birds (two or three types depending on the person) all over the field, but the most dominant birds among them have tiny feathers that make them look quite cute.

Are you the type to fly or the type to walk?

And then there are the lions, perhaps? Beige and navy lions perched on the border with carefree expressions. They don't look like guardian deities, but they sure are the type to get involved when it's time to.

The word "carelessness" must have been created for them.

Finally, the letter "S" is used extensively, which is my son's and my initials and is a symbol of protection from evil. Doesn't it make you excited to have your initials in a rug?

Other designs include tents, flowers, and paisleys (called bote in Persian carpets), which give a sense of the free-spirited sensibility of the Qashqai people and make you feel happy when you look at them.

I hope that when my son leaves home he will take this photo with him, along with the memories of living with his family.

What is important when choosing a rug?

One of the things I look for when choosing a rug is its "face."

This could be considered a design, but it is a little different; it is like the appearance of the carpet when viewed from a little distance.

To put it simply, it can be said to be a first impression.

When you get closer, you may be drawn to the rug, and you may get a glimpse of its charm that you wouldn't notice when looking at it from a distance.

It's strange how similar designs can have different looks, and I think that's because it reflects the weaver's intentions and technique, and in the case of old items, the time that has passed since they were made.

It feels like I'm looking at a human being, and I think that's probably what it feels like.

Since you'll be with the rug for a long time, it may be important to have an intuition as to whether you'll grow to like the rug.

There are a few other points, but we'll talk about them next time!

"Enjoy your home"

During this time when we have to refrain from going out, we want to spend time in a room that is as comfortable and stylish as possible.

Incorporating your favorite rug into your room's styling like fashion can make you feel happy every day and even just looking at it can be soothing.

Now that you're spending more time indoors, it might be a good idea to take your time and find a special rug that suits you.

If you already have a rug, try changing where you place it and you'll see how it changes the atmosphere of your room, making it seem like you've redecorated.

Well then!
