Hello everyone.
Today we bring you Hirai's column, "Rag and Camel."
I've been spending more time at home recently, so I decided to redecorate my living/dining room.
That said, we don't have that much furniture, so we just move the sofa, table, and rug around, but it still changes the mood and is fun!
I love redecorating.
Here is the before and after.
before after
When I lined up the photos, I noticed something: Huh? Not much has changed...
When you actually spend time there, the place where you eat and the view from the sofa change, so even small changes feel refreshing.
I usually spend a lot of time on the sofa, so I bought a large rug in front of it in preparation for the warmer weather.
I'm looking forward to spending more time on the floor!
Shiraz rugs have longer pile and feel better to walk on.
Discoveries during the makeover
The new discovery this time was the way the rugs under the dining room were arranged.

The rug in front of the sofa ended up under the legs of the dining table, so one of the four legs was not supported by the rug and was wobbly.
So we decided to try something new for the first time: adding an accent rug about the size of an entrance hall and supporting the space with three pieces!
The table was stable and comfortable.
Vacuum every corner and wipe the floor to make it clean.
However...
Just as I was lying on the rug thinking this was good enough, something caught my eye.

The edge of the rug, where people walk a lot, has become covered in dust and fluff.
I also vacuum regularly!
However, once it becomes like a pill, it is difficult to remove it with just a vacuum cleaner.
In times like these, try wearing rubber gloves !
You can remove it easily by rubbing the rug with the rubber part.
I intended to only do the edges, but once I started I couldn't stop.
Once the dust is removed, just vacuum it up and you're done.
Once I'd done all that, I felt pretty refreshed.

This looks like it will be very relaxing!
If you are in trouble, please try wearing rubber gloves.
See you next time!
