Staff MK's recommended ways to spend your holidays 5

Hello, this is Kumai from Layout.

It's Golden Week.

I'm glad the weather has been nice lately!

Every year, I start going to festivals around Golden Week and realize, "Ah, summer is coming!"

Unfortunately, all the festivals I had planned to attend this year have been canceled or postponed, but just knowing that my beloved summer is approaching gets me excited.

Local exploration

The weather was nice on my last day off, so I went exploring the local area.
(While avoiding contact with people, of course)

I was born and raised in a fairly rural town in Saitama Prefecture.

I've lived here for 27 years, but since becoming an adult there are quite a few places I no longer go to and roads I no longer take.

Golden Week is the season of fresh greenery.

The local Green Road was also completely covered in green.

I spend every day at home on my computer, smartphone, and watching TV, so it feels like it's been a while since I've seen so much greenery.

After passing through Green Road, I arrived at a park I had never been to before.

This park is also very green! It's easy on the eyes.

Even after living here for 27 years, there are still places I don't know.

As I walked along, wondering if such a park even existed, the smell of the trees reached me even through my mask and was soothing.

When I walk along the route to my alma mater, I notice that the bicycle shop that my brother and I used to frequent when we were little is gone, or I spot the place where a friend of mine used to live who has since moved away, and that's what I call an emotional feeling.

This is why I can't stop exploring the local area.

By the way, what made me happy was that there was a Starbucks! (Escape from the countryside!)

On my way home, my eyes met with a cat, but it ran away after I took two steps closer...

I previously mentioned on a TV program that I admire Yokohama, and I really love my hometown because it's so green and peaceful.

I'm sure being in the sun released a lot of serotonin.

See you next time☆
