Staff MK's top 10 tips for spending your holidays

Hello, this is Kumai from Layout.

Today is the start of June!

It feels so fast that half of 2020 has already passed.

A lot has happened in the last six months and the world has changed dramatically.

I am reminded once again how truly blessed I am to be in good health right now.

I had the day off the day before yesterday, so I went to the hairdresser for the first time in three months.

I had been holding back during the state of emergency, but it was starting to get damaged, so I'm happy to have it cleaned up.

And since the weather was nice, I ran the washing machine twice and took my winter clothes to the dry cleaners, so I cleaned up my surroundings and my mind felt refreshed.

Something my mother told me when I first started working.

"A messy room is a messy mind"

I think that's pretty accurate.

When your mind is feeling cluttered, it might be a good idea to tidy up your surroundings.

The showroom also had a new sofa upholstery, creating a cleaner atmosphere.

Homemade sweets with mother

I introduced homemade sweets in a previous blog, and it seems my mother was also influenced by what she saw on TV, so she invited me to try making some homemade sweets.

●Basque cheesecake

Basque cheesecakes sold at convenience stores became popular.

Just mix, bake and cool! It's actually very easy to make!

Once cooled, it's done. The bumpy shape gives it a handmade feel!

I have made cheesecake twice in the past, but both times it didn't rise and I have sad memories of failing...

I'm so glad that this was the first time I was successful.

I also made some other simple sweets, such as caramel.

It might have been since I was in junior high school that I last made sweets with my mother.

During the STAY HOME period, I had more opportunities to spend time in the kitchen with my mother, and now that I'm an adult and we cook and bake together, I think I really understand the maternal qualities and personality of my mother that I didn't notice when I was a child.

When I was a child, I thought my mother was a very skillful person, but in reality she was a very careless person. (laughs)

I'll have to ask my mother, who's a good cook, to teach me a lot of things as I prepare to become a bride... (I have no plans to get married)

See you next time!
