Hello, this is Kumai from Layout.
A full year has passed since the start of the Reiwa era. Time flies.
Do you know the official meaning of Reiwa?
"It means that culture is born and grows when people come together in beautiful harmony."
"Just like the plum blossoms that bloom magnificently after the bitter cold, heralding the arrival of spring, I hope that Japan will be a place where each and every Japanese person can blossom beautifully, filled with hope for tomorrow."
There is so much heartbreaking news, but I hope that peaceful days will return soon.
Home Festival
In my last blog, I wrote that unfortunately all the festivals I had planned to attend had been cancelled or postponed, but just yesterday, Block Festival streamed their online festival for free!
My favorite artists were featured here and there, so I watched it during breaks while working from home.
Each artist connected the video from their home, and unlike outdoor festivals, we were able to see the artists' faces clearly, making it a really enjoyable at-home festival ^^

Let's dance at home
The best thing about the STAY HOME period is that it has happened!!
My favorite dancer has started online lessons.
The dancer is based in Fukuoka, so as someone who lives in Saitama, I couldn't find the opportunity to attend his lessons and I always just watched them on YouTube, but I took this opportunity to sign up for his online lessons!
The person I took lessons from was Yurinasia.
She's the same age as me and a mother of two!
They basically only dance to J-POP, so even people who don't dance will enjoy watching it.
There is a video of them dancing in a beautifully decorated space, so please check it out if you're interested.
In this video, even though the locations are different, it's great that they can dance together.
However, I live in an apartment, so if I stomped my feet as hard as I did in the studio, the people living below me would get angry...
I resisted the urge to move as much as I could and focused on my upper body in the lesson.
Just to be safe, I put a Gabbeh on top of a tribal rug and practiced on it (lol).

Right now, we have no choice but to dance alone, but singing and dancing can connect people.
See you next time☆
