Hello, this is Kumai from Layout.
It's a bit late, but Happy New Year.
This is the first blog of the new year, but I realized it's already February. Time flies, way too fast...
Since the end of the year, I've been busy with one thing or another and my days have been hectic.
This time, I would like to go back a little in time and write about my recent activities since the end of the year.
Slip into Shonan Beach
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, opportunities to go to the beach have decreased dramatically, and as someone who loves the beach, it looked like I would end 2021 without going to the beach even once, so I thought I'd just write a little bit at the very end.
It was extremely cold and windy, but it was refreshing.
I really need this time, I realized.

My beloved kitchen Gabbeh
Have you all done your end-of-year cleaning?
I still remember when I asked Layout's NS a long time ago, "Are you doing a big end-of-year cleaning?" and she replied, "I clean every day, so I don't think I'll do anything special."
I couldn't help but say "Oh..."
I know that spring cleaning shouldn't become an event, but I just can't make it a daily routine...
In 2022, I would like to learn to live a more careful life in order to become a more mature woman.
Around the end of the year, I received a notification from Google Photos that said something like, "Let's look back on memories from a year ago," and in it was a photo of my beloved Kitchen Gabbeh, which had joined our home just about a year ago.
We often get asked in our shop, "Is it okay to put a Gabbeh in the kitchen and have it get dirty?", so we'd like to tell you about what our Gabbehs look like during our big end-of-year cleaning.
First, here are some before and after photos of the Gabbeh after one year.
Still shiny new How I was stepped on for a year
At first glance, there is no particular change. It still has the same beautiful blue color.
Even though I'm not the most diligent person, I still vacuum quite a bit.
What I try to do is pick up and wipe up any spills I make right away. That's basically it.
Since it was a big cleaning, I checked the surface carefully and found almost no stains, but I did find something crusty stuck to one spot!

It's hard to tell from the photo, but it seems like someone had clearly spilled something on it and left it there.
But it is a handmade rug after all.
Because the hair was lying flat, only the surface (the tips of the hair) remained crisp, and there was no problem at the base.
In such cases, it will look better if you remove the crunch with tweezers or something similar.

After removing the dust, gently rub the surface with a tightly wrung towel, then vacuum thoroughly to remove any dust clinging to the pompoms and fringe, and you're done!

Because of this child, I wander around the kitchen barefoot even in winter.
I'll take good care of it and take good care of it.
I'm also planning on moving this year, so I'd like to put more effort into decorating my room!
So, we look forward to your continued support this year.
Layout members have a high rate of great fortune in 2022, and of course I'm lucky too!
I'm going to enjoy every day of this year and run through it! (I'm sure it will feel like about three months...)
See you later.
