Hello, this is Kumai from Layout.
It's already September.
Kumai's beloved summer is coming to an end...
This is the loneliest time of the year.
This year was a summer of staying at home, so I didn't go out much and spent about five times as much time relaxing at home as usual.
There are only three months left in 2021.
It's so early that I'm a little scared, but I want to enjoy autumn and winter in my own way (mainly food).

A time trip in my mind
I read a lot of books this summer, and in one book
"We are too busy imagining the future and reminiscing about the past"
It said:
I agree.
I also love time travelling in my mind.
Although the book was written in a negative light, I don't think of it that negatively.
It's true that we tend to think about things before COVID-19, or when COVID-19 is over, and it's not good not to enjoy the present to the fullest to the extent that we can.
But instead, wouldn't it be fun to reminisce about old memories or feel a little emotional when remembering old scenery?
Recently, when I was sorting through my drawers, I came across a ton of print club stickers and photos I had taken in middle and high school, and it was so much fun (lol).
I remembered the scenery and had a time trip in my mind for about an hour.
By the way, there are many ways to say time travel.
Time travel time trip time leap time slip time warp
You've probably heard of things like this.
From what I've researched, there doesn't seem to be any specific definition, it's just a difference in wording.
It seems that the words used vary depending on the work, such as when you hear the word time travel you think of Doraemon, and when you hear the word time leap you think of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.
Personally, I like the sound of time travel, so I'll go with that term.
Even so, there are a lot of time-traveling works, such as Back to the Future, About Time, and the currently popular Tokyo Revengers.
And they're all really interesting works...
Time travel is something that humans long for and hope for.
There is another book that took me on a sudden time trip and really moved me.
"Momo" is a fantasy children's novel written by Michael Ende.

It has been in my parents' home since I was old enough to understand, and I remember reading it before I started elementary school.
I happened to come across it online recently and it brought back so many memories that I wanted to read it right away, so I bought it as an e-book.
It's a story about a time thief and a girl who gets it back, and it's quite deep.
If I write too much it would be a spoiler, so I will touch on it briefly, but pay attention to the last four lines here.
Adults' time is stolen, they become increasingly stressed, and they lose their human emotions.

When I was little, I didn't really understand it, but I remember being envious of the food scenes that appeared in the middle of the film, as they were very appealing (laughs).
Also pay attention to the last five lines.

Not only did I feel the same way at the time, but the images of the dresser and bedroom at my parents' house where this book was kept suddenly came back to me, and my mind and heart felt like they were traveling back in time.
After I finished reading it, I wanted to keep the book I read as a child, so I bought the paperback version as well.
I think being busy has both good and bad points.
But,
It says "the heart dies" but it's read as "busy"...
Come to think of it, Kumai's motto when he was a university student was "Live in the moment."
Anyway, I was living that time to the fullest, but I haven't mentioned it recently...
As someone who has been rushing through life since becoming an adult, this was exactly the book I needed to read right now.
It's turned into just a blog introducing recommended books. (lol)
But I highly recommend it, so please give it a read if you'd like!
Until next time★
