Staff SA's Food and Childcare

Hello everyone, nice to meet you. My name is Akiyama and I joined Layout at the end of September. I look forward to working with you.

Since this is my first time here, I'd like to start by telling you how I came to work here.

On October 17th, Layout moved from under the Nakameguro Station overpass to this store along the Meguro River.
There was a restaurant at this location until the end of May, and I was involved in the management there as a chef for 14 and a half years.
However, due to a number of circumstances, the store was forced to close...

Now, what should I do next...

I currently have a 3-year-old daughter and am unable to work during dinner time. Also, it is currently very difficult to work in restaurants.
I think I need some time away from eating and drinking to take a step back and reflect...
And so on, a whole host of different thoughts were running through my mind.

That's when

I was invited by the president of Layout to see the store, and I was drawn to his intuition, drive, and personality.

This is also a connection!

I have always loved interior design and Iranian rugs and had been looking for them, so that's how I ended up working in this same place again.

So, I'm all about "eating, cooking, and having others eat."
I love food, and there are many things I feel and think about through raising children, which takes up most of my daily life, so I would like to talk about food (and food education) and occasionally about raising children here.

==============================================

Food, clothing and shelter are essential for people to survive.

Something that gently covers the body, cooks, is cooked, and eats using the five senses. A warm and comfortable life with rugs.

I believe that each of these things is important and enriches our lives.

The one thing I feel is most important when it comes to eating is "seasonality"!
It's popping out of my pocket❤︎..Ahaha

Vegetables and fruits in particular allow us to fully experience the seasons, and eating them has a wonderful effect on our bodies.

In spring, there are many bitter and astringent vegetables such as bamboo shoots, wild vegetables, and rape blossoms, which help detoxify the body by excreting toxins that have accumulated during the cold winter.

[Summer] There are many vegetables that are high in potassium, such as cucumbers, bell peppers, and eggplants, which help balance out sodium and help the body withstand the heat.

Autumn is full of nutritious vegetables such as sweet potatoes, pumpkins, and carrots, which will help you build up your body's resistance to the cold of winter.

In winter, radishes, Chinese cabbage, spinach, and other vegetables grow by naturally increasing their sugar content and adjusting their moisture content to prevent themselves from freezing, and eating them helps warm the body.

As you can see, seasonal vegetables contain plenty of nutrients that are essential for building the body in that season, and they support our bodies.
It allows you to experience Japan's wonderful four seasons and enriches your soul.

And above all, vegetables grown on the streets are delicious!

I'm a girl who likes to eat boxes, but I'm embarrassed.

I can't wait for the season when I can eat my favorite cherries...and since they're not available all year round, they're precious, incredibly attractive, and perhaps even more delicious.

Just a little quibble, but my mother says that when I caught a cold as a child, I would always say, "I want to eat cherries!", causing her a lot of trouble. Usually, cherries weren't in season, so she'd make do with canned cherries that were dyed bright red right down to the stems...lol

In my hometown, we still grow rice in the rice fields, and although not all of the vegetables are grown in the fields, the smell of rice harvesting and digging potatoes in the mud are still there.
I would like children to experience and feel many things, from how vegetables grow throughout the year to the process of harvesting them and bringing them to their mouths.

I may have spoken a little too passionately about my love for vegetables, but I hope to eat plenty of seasonal vegetables and fruits and stay healthy and happy every day!

That's who I am, but I hope you will continue to keep me in mind.

See you soon!
