Staff Y presents Journey in a Box

Hello. I'm Yoshitani, also known as staff member Y.

In this article, I would like to introduce the contents of the small cardboard boxes I have left over from my decluttering efforts, divided into three categories.

Introduction

I have been decluttering since the beginning of 2020.

I regularly go through the things in my house and I think I'm steadily reducing them.

Suddenly, I thought it might be time to reduce my possessions again, so I opened a small cardboard box containing some of the things I had left over from last time.

I don't know if it's interesting, but I'll give you a brief overview of what's inside.

CD

I'm sure most of the CDs I bought a long time ago are still at my parents' house, but for some reason I brought a few with me.

Looking closely, it seems that she had chosen to bring along things that were memorable to her.

The one on the left was probably purchased when I was 19 or 20.

An album by a band called EGG BRAIN .

When I became a university student, the first concert I went to with my new friends was this band's.

I vividly remember the incredible heat and my friend getting so excited that he gave me a piggyback ride.

The one on the right was purchased a little earlier, probably around 17 years old.

An album by a band called LOCAL SOUND STYLE .

At that time, I spent my days writing songs at my bandmates' houses and practicing songs by my favorite bands.

We all read a manga about a band called BECK , which was also made into a movie, and we were like, "Let's do it too!" It was a time of youth.

Whenever I try to remember those days, this band's songs play in my head.

Although I hardly play the guitar anymore, I continue to play music, and listening to this song for the first time in a while brought home to me how influential my experience of playing in a band was.

comics

For some reason, I also brought all the volumes of this manga with me.

Goodnight Punpun by Inio Asano.

I think I borrowed this manga from a senior in my club at university, and I became completely hooked.

I remember that after reading this, I felt like I understood the sense of discomfort that I had vaguely felt throughout elementary, middle, and high school but hadn't been able to put into words.

It's a work that has had quite an impact on my personality.

books

I hardly ever read printed books in the past, and I probably bought both of them after I graduated from university.

On the left is Takuya Senda's " You don't have time for that anymore"

I guess I was worried about something. Lol

The options are written for each scale: seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, and years.

When I read it again, I was shocked to realize how many things I had not been able to do.

On the right is Eikichi Yazawa's "Are You Happy?"

My mother, who is the complete opposite of me and loves books, gave this to me when she visited home a few years ago.

I guess I was worried at the time too.

How did Eikichi Yazawa become the global YAZAWA?

The book tells the story of his dramatic and eventful life, written in the YAZAWA style.

This book taught me that the only way to achieve the future you desire is to ask yourself questions and come up with clear answers.

summary

What did you think?

Sometimes objects are excellent records of the past, and they can make you question your current self about what has changed and what has remained the same.

As a result, I decided to wait a little longer for what I'm introducing today.

I think I'll try chewing it again.

If you regularly check your belongings, you'll discover something new.

Thank you for watching until the end.

Finally...we look forward to your participation in the ongoing Weird Rug Exhibition!
