Hello. I'm Yoshitani, also known as staff member Y.

In this article, I would like to introduce the running habit I have started again after a long time, as someone who ran middle and long distances in the track and field club in junior high school.


Introduction

The state of emergency was extended, and the days we were suddenly thrown into about a month ago,

It is becoming established as a new normal.

I wondered if it would be so terrible if people went out so drastically.

As the days passed, I began to feel a real sense of accomplishment.

So I started running in the morning and evening.

It was a long time ago, but I was a member of the track and field club for three years in junior high school.

I was running medium to long distances.

I have no reservations about running, and in fact I am well aware of its benefits.

Rhythmic exercises such as walking and running

It is one of the conditions for the secretion of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that activates the brain.

I was decluttering so I didn't have any running clothes or shoes,

Once you have the complete set, try riding it.

As I felt my physical strength declining,

I feel a sense of accomplishment when I complete the course I have set out.

You may also be able to feel the arrival of spring, which you haven't felt for a long time, and discover nature in the city.

This time, I would like to report on one such day's running.


Clothing and shoes

First of all, you can't get started without this.

All of these items are from Uniqlo's "Sports Utility Wear" series.

Although it is cheaper than sports brands, it is of excellent quality.

I especially like the Dry-EX material tops, as they dry quickly and are very functional.

The jacket is lightweight and packable, making it easy to carry around.

The shoes are Adidas Edge RC 3.

Running shoes also have different specifications depending on the purpose.

You need to pay particular attention to the thickness of the sole.

Racing shoes are lightweight and thin, so

This increases the impact on your feet.

Considering that this is my first run in a while and that I will be running on asphalt,

I chose this model because it has a thick sole.

I also like the simple and futuristic design.

I know this is a little late to say, but wearing all black is a bit suspicious.


Spring discovered while running

I can't run at the same pace as I did about 10 years ago, so

Run slowly and keep an eye on the scenery around you.

The photo above shows a lush bamboo forest next to a busy road.

Suddenly, I couldn't believe my eyes, thinking, "What on earth has it done in such a place?"

The bamboo forest was quite large, and the sound of the bamboo rustling in the wind was very pleasant.

This is also a large, sturdy tree that suddenly appeared.

When I look at the trunk of a large tree, I feel a strong sense of life.

In my hometown, there is a huge cedar tree called "Millennium Cedar," which is so big that it would take five adults to stretch their arms around it to circle it, and I remember being overwhelmed by it when I was in elementary school.

If you look closely, you'll see that it's a shocking pink that doesn't seem like something you'd find in nature.

The wool used in rugs is also plant-dyed, and I wondered what it would be like if I dyed it with this.

This one is...again a difficult one, but perhaps it's Dandelion?

The pale pink was so beautiful that I even turned back to take a photo.

I remember this flower often blooming on the roadside in my hometown.

I was a little impressed to see that they bloom in Tokyo too.

The music video was released at a miraculous time, so I'd like to introduce it to you.

This is a song I remember listening to over and over when I was in elementary and junior high school.

It may not feel like spring here, but I caught sight of a cute cat so I took a photo.

When I see a scene like this, I realize that peace can exist even in times of crisis.

I feel a little relieved.

So I completed the 4km run in about 20 minutes.

The Nike app shown in the screenshot, "Nike Run Club," provides audio guidance and detailed analysis, making it quite useful when running.

Early morning and late night times when there are fewer people around

Consider road runs that avoid the three Cs,

I think it's very important to make moderate exercise a habit.

My head feels clearer than when I wasn't doing it,

My life has become more balanced.

I was surprised at the muscle pain that reached its peak on the fourth day,

Once you get through it, it's no big deal.

I will continue to do this and work towards building a healthy body.

Next time I'll probably add some strength training...
