Half Gabbeh and half tribal
Hello, this is buyer H.
Just when I thought it was getting warmer and I could put away my down coat, the weather has suddenly become as cold as mid-winter.
As spring is still on hold for a little while, our recommended rug for March is this Gabbeh.

I think this rug is "half Gabbeh and half Tribal."
It is made of Gabbeh and has a tribal design.
"I want a soft, fluffy feel, but I also like tribal designs."
This is a piece I would highly recommend to anyone looking for something like this!
Now let's take a closer look at the exciting points.
The fun of design

The green motif in the middle is a motif commonly seen in rugs by the Qashqai people and others.
There are various theories as to what this represents, but the truth is still unknown.
I see a crab. What do you see?
Whatever the motif, it is certainly a very important motif for the people living in the Zagros Mountains.
Perhaps it is something that the tribe has treasured and protected for a long time, and has been passed down with the warning, "Don't tell anyone else!"
I can't help but imagine such things.
Every color is attractive
If you look at each of the colors used in this rug, they are all very attractive.

The blue has a beautiful gradation of shades, and has a distinctive look like the ocean.
The green is a deep forest green. It has a calming color that is different from fresh greenery. It's soothing.

The yellow (orange?) is fruity, like a ripe mango.

The beige is like a sheep, and it brings to mind the image of relaxed, free-spirited sheep.

And! It even has a touch of cherry blossom pink, perfect for spring.

Be sure to check out the shop and find out where the cherry blossom color is hiding!
If you take a closer look at the fringe, you'll see that it's made from two-tone wool, beige and grayish brown, twisted together into a single thread.
The color and texture of the fringe peeking out from the edges also have a big impact on the overall impression of the rug, so be sure to check it out!

As you can see, each and every color of this rug is very attractive. It is not just an ordinary item. It gives off a unique aura.
The feel underfoot is perfect
Can you tell? This fluffy feeling.

The construction is similar to that of a Gabbeh, so it is soft and fluffy enough to sit on or lounge around on.

If we were to describe the thickness, it would be somewhere between a Gabbeh and a Tribal, so I was suddenly convinced that it was a half rug after all.
It's just the right thickness for lounging around or for providing stability when placing a table on it, so it's exciting to think it can be enjoyed in a variety of situations!
Try laying it out
So far we have focused on one part of the rug and introduced its exciting features, but let's take three steps back and look at the rug as a whole.

If you step back a little, you may notice a different charm to the rug.
What do you think? Has your impression changed since then?
When we find a rug that catches our eye, we try observing it up close like this, touching it with our hands, or even taking three steps back to look at it as a whole. Rugs always give us something new to discover.
As I continued to look at it, I was reminded of the time I found this rug in Iran.
I remember the moment I found this rug, which stood out among the many Gabbehs piled up in the warehouse, I immediately decided in my mind, "I have to bring this back to Japan!"
It was love at first sight!
As I write about my love for this rug, I have a premonition of it leaving...
