As mentioned last time, today we will be talking about the exhibition.
Exhibitions are important in every profession, but for people who are not in that industry, they are an unknown world...So I hope to be able to talk about this unknown world, and about the creators and manufacturers, in a way that will pique people's interest.
Furniture is something that touches our lives, and there are more manufacturers than you might think, and it is made with a lot of thought, so I would be happy if you could get even a little sense of that. The fun of choosing is endless.

Yes, the possibilities are endless! We also visited one of Japan's largest manufacturers.
The site area was surprisingly large, and I was amazed to hear that it had expanded even further since last year, as it was such a big manufacturer.
I have never felt so strongly that you won't know until you go.
I see the manufacturer's products in catalogs, online, and in many other places, but I realized that what I get from those is only a small part of what they are.
I was envious of the fact that people living in this area seem to take for granted how they keep up with trends and contribute to the community. However, there are still very few places where you can enjoy interior design.
I hope that places like this where you can enjoy interior design rooted in the local community will gradually spread throughout Japan. This was also a place that made me realize once again that we want our store to become that kind of place.
A discerning manufacturer
Some manufacturers are surprisingly large, while others are small manufacturers with a strong sense of commitment and passion.
Even this small manufacturer has items to decorate your home.
A variety of items are created through craftsmanship that focuses on the selection of wood and design...I found items that we will need for our store in the future, as well as items that I wanted myself.
Before I knew it, I had already ordered some for myself along with the stock in the store.
It may seem a bit forced to say this now, but one of the standards for what we display in the store is to "select products that we think are good." It's reassuring to hear that a product is the No. 1 favorite among our staff.
The fact that the people who work there think it's good and actually use it is one of the things that makes it clear that it's a really good product, and is easy to understand and reassuring. So, if it were to be exhibited, I would definitely recommend it highly.
I'm looking forward to the day I can welcome you into my room.
The exhibition is also an opportunity to discover new possibilities for furniture.
There are no major changes in the general shape of furniture.
As far as I know, furniture existed in the Heian period, the Mesopotamian civilization, and even around the time Columbus discovered the New World.
Although there are some differences in decorations depending on the country, climate, things there, and culture, I don't think there are any major changes.
And sometimes I suddenly think that it's all the same and I feel helpless.
Lifestyle suggestions
So what is this new discovery? I think it is a proposal for a new way of living.
It's a proposal to think about what kind of life you want to live and ask yourself, "Why not try living like this?"
Living room and dining type furniture, which has become commonplace recently, is truly a proposal for a new way of living.
By the way, LD type refers to furniture that combines a living room and a dining room. Dining tables are usually 70-72cm high, but LD type tables are made a little lower at 65cm.
Therefore, the sofa is placed on one side and comfortable chairs on the other. It has the best of both the living room and dining room. It was a proposal for a lifestyle that fulfilled the desire to have a single place for family gatherings.
We have discovered new possibilities for furniture that may come next after the living/dining type.
It is very similar to the living/dining type, but it has some interesting features, such as two couch-type areas where you can stretch your legs out, where a family of four can sleep, sit cross-legged, or relax, and a side table that can be transformed into a dining table when guests come over.
I'm looking forward to seeing it commercialized. It seems like we're about done talking about the exhibition, so I'd like to talk about it again if the opportunity arises.
