Life and Me Vol.20

"A moment of bliss, a reward for yourself"

Do you know "Hakonehon Box"?
A few years ago, I heard about an acquaintance who had stayed there, and I had decided in my heart that I wanted to stay there someday! That was Hakone Honbako.
As the name suggests, there are books, books and more books everywhere.

Since I started using smartphones, I feel like I have less time to read books.
I think there are many people who think that way.

This is true for me. I used to have a habit of always carrying a book in my bag when I got on the train, but now that I take the train less, I have even less time to read books than before.
As I find myself with less and less time to read, going out of my way to a place where I can enjoy the time to read and the space with a book has been nothing but a pleasure for me.
Furthermore, it was my first time going to a hotel just to enjoy the accommodation itself.

Once we reached the top of the mountain pass, a wonderful and moving space spread out from the entrance. The moment we arrived, I was so excited that I thought to myself, "I'm glad I came!"
The staff were very friendly and it was a pleasant experience even getting to our room. There were also books and places to read books everywhere, making this a wonderful accommodation with excellent hospitality in both space and spirit.

Of course, there were a few selected books in the room where I was staying.
I've loved reading since I was little, but the books I read are very selective, and the world is overflowing with books, so naturally there are books I've never read.
These were all books that I probably wouldn't have noticed in a bookstore in my everyday life, but they were all books that caught my eye just from the titles, and they really piqued my desire to read them.

As soon as I arrived, I was soaking in the open-air bath in my room while reading a book that had caught my eye for the first time, an interesting choice that I might not normally have read.
The view was beautiful, and the time I spent in the open-air bath was truly a wonderful experience that could be described as blissful.

We explored Hakone Honbako, enjoyed each and every detail, and time passed slowly. It was an extraordinary experience that passed very comfortably.
I truly felt that this was a "moment of bliss."

I really like the food and the interior.
It was delicious and stylish.
The "local gastronomy" cuisine, which made generous use of Hakone ingredients, was natural Italian with an organic and cleansing theme, and everything was not only beautiful but also delicious.
The counter seats are counter chair types of the classic "Seven Chair," and the table seats are equipped with the classic "Wai Chair," further enhancing the sensitivity of the space.

I learned a lot of important things about focusing on one thing, being particular about authenticity, and creating a comfortable interior.

Hakone Honbako is made up of chairs that are considered masterpieces, each with its own meaning, and is a space that interior design lovers should definitely visit!
It's become a place I would love to visit at the same time every year if possible.

Whether it's finding a place where you feel comfortable or creating a place that you feel comfortable in, interior design elements are essential.
That's why I want people to become more interested in interior design and create spaces that are comfortable to live in, and I want to help them do so. I sincerely hope that more and more people will become interested in and hooked on interior design!

If you're looking to treat yourself, we highly recommend the Hakone Honbako. (This is not a promotion.)

SHIMAZAKI AYAKO

I loved redecorating and constantly rearranging my room as a child, and before I knew it, 12 years have passed since I started working in interior design. I am the manager of two different interior design shops, and I've recently started working in the e-commerce business. I'm a bundle of curiosity, and although I have a high level of concentration, my persistence is quite low, so I'm secretly worried about writing a blog.
