"What determines the impression of the interior"

As people are spending more time at home, I think more people are becoming interested in interior design.
There are more and more interior design features on TV, in newspapers, and on social media.
I've also heard several times that since people can't go on a trip, they're thinking, "I'll just pretend I went on a trip and buy a new sofa!"
I think this phrase is becoming more common because more people are focusing on creating their rooms so that they can spend their time at home comfortably.
Of course, I am one of them.
In the past, on my days off, I would go out about four-fifths of the time (almost always going out and meeting people), but now it's less than one-fifth.
Naturally, working in the interior design industry, I gradually became interested in the little things in a house. I found something missing in my house.
That's the rug.
Rugs are the second largest item in size after curtains, and are one of the items that make an impression on an interior. That's why it's easy to have trouble deciding, worry and worry, and then get tired of worrying and give up and don't buy anything, which can lead to a negative interior design loop. But on the other hand, a rug can make a big difference in the impression, and it can also have the elements to completely transform an interior into a beautiful one!
So, I finally decided to look for a rug, something I'd always wanted but hadn't looked for. At times like this, I also use social media a lot. I looked at Pinterest and Instagram (especially Instagram from people overseas is so helpful), and tried to imagine it in my head to match the interior of my room, and I had a really hard time deciding which one would be best.
I worried about it when I got home from work, and I also worried about it all day at home on my days off, so I was probably constantly surfing the internet for about a month.
And that's when we arrived at "tribal rugs."

Since I have been given the opportunity to write here, I first searched Layout's website.
‥there was!
Found it!
This may seem staged, but it really did happen. I wasn't asked to buy it, or to write an article about it, but I found it myself, and I'm so happy that I'm writing about it.
There were three things that interested me in total.
I couldn't decide what to put in front of the sofa. It was quite far away and difficult to go and see it in person (I'm the type of person who wants it right now), so I called the staff member who always helps me to ask for more details. Thankfully, they agreed to send it over for me to see.
It was a huge help. I was so grateful to be able to see with my own eyes and touch it to see if it would suit my room. I looked at the size and color and decided, "This is it!" However, I was still curious about the other piece...so I decided to put it under the dining room.

This fits perfectly in the room and looks great, and at that moment I thought to myself, "I'm so glad I bought two!"
The addition of red, which hadn't been in the room before, gave it a completely different atmosphere.
And above all, it goes perfectly with vintage furniture, and I think it's amazing how interiors from around the world can be combined.
There's a real beauty in being a one-of-a-kind item, and while I thought that this was the last thing I'd ever want, I also felt a desire to find something even more wonderful, so I was torn between the two. I still remember the moment when, after much deliberation, I finally decided on something that was close to my ideal and brought it into my room.
I feel a sense of joy welling up from the bottom of my heart.
It had been a while since I'd experienced the feelings of my customers, and it brought me back to my roots. I was so happy.
As I mentioned at the beginning, rugs are large and tend to take a back seat to furniture, so I personally think they are one of the more difficult items to decide on. However, when you think about the joy you feel when someone enters your room and how comfortable it will be to live in, it is definitely an item that you should think about carefully.
Now that we are spending more time at home, why not start thinking about your room's interior and rugs?
I'm sure Layout-san will be happy to help! (I'm just saying this lol)
I was really glad to be able to welcome you.

SHIMAZAKI AYAKO
I loved redecorating and constantly rearranging my room as a child, and before I knew it, 12 years have passed since I started working in interior design. I am the manager of two different interior design shops, and I've recently started working in the e-commerce business. I'm a bundle of curiosity, and although I have a high level of concentration, my persistence is quite low, so I'm secretly worried about writing a blog.
