My thoughts on how to enjoy interior design Vol.1

nice to meet you

Starting this month, I will be participating in the series with you all.
My only writing experience is writing a blog for my shop, so I would appreciate it if you would be kind enough to watch over me.
Thank you very much.

self-introduction

My name is Senbongi and I work at STYLE, a lifestyle shop in Gunma Prefecture.

I am the chief in charge of accessories, and my main job involves purchasing goods, creating displays and displaying items in the sales area!
We will introduce the interesting aspects of interior design from the perspective of someone who loves accessories, as well as some key points for display!

My hobbies are reading, walking, running, growing plants, and taking naps! Lol

The best way to detox is to spend as much time as you want, without spending much money, and to immerse yourself in a fantasy world.
Another hobby I love, and one that is essential to introducing myself, is plants!

From large sizes to small palm-sized ones, they are an important presence that brings fresh air and a sense of healing to your room.

I grow them in two places, indoors and outdoors, and when I counted them there were over 50 lol (there are just too many...!) Lately I've been collecting too many and can't keep up with caring for them, so I'm trying not to let them get too numerous.

However, if there is a cat in front of the store that I really want to take home, I often think, "This might be a fateful encounter! This is a destined encounter!" and take it home without thinking about the consequences...
It's currently a busy spring planting season.

It's a lot of work to mist them every morning, but the more effort you put into them, the healthier they grow, and it's so adorable!

My thoughts on enjoying interior design

The word "interior" seems a bit difficult to me.
Am I the only one who can picture a beautiful, unified space?
However, when you actually live there, you will find that a space that is easy to live in is more relaxing than one that looks beautiful.

Your ideal vision and your own way of living.
I think the fun part of interior design is the process of trial and error of arranging furniture and decorating items to find the perfect balance between these two!

"I'm interested in interior design, but I don't know how to put it all together."

I have heard this comment several times from customers I serve in store.
By keeping in mind the key points for having fun, anyone can create a stylish space with a unified look.

That's the point!
"Match the colors!"

You may think this is a small thing, but this is the most important thing!

The overall colour is consistent, creating a unified and balanced space.
Rather than choosing individual items, look at the whole picture and see what fits in.
If you think about it that way, doesn't it make it easier to choose?

Keep these points in mind and take your time to carefully select the furniture and accessories that will create your ideal room, one piece at a time. Little by little. Enjoy the fun of choosing!

By doing this, you will naturally end up with an interior that is uniquely yours!

Before that.
If you don't know what color is good or what design you like, try to find out what you like.

I believe that interior design is not just for living in, but also a tool for expressing yourself. Just by entering a room, you can say, "I love this color!", "I love this design!", "I love this lifestyle!" and so on. Take a good look at yourself and find what you like so that you can express your likes from your room!

By looking at yourself, you will naturally find out what colors you like, what kind of space makes you feel relaxed, and what kind of lifestyle suits you.

You will gradually begin to understand it, and before you know it, your own interior will be complete!

Meeting Layout

Layout was the company that introduced me to my first ever rug.

The first one I bought was a colorful Gabbeh rug, 40x40cm. I placed it at the entrance to my balcony as an accent rug. This was the one I was shown when I visited Layout, and it felt like fate! I was only familiar with Gabbehs with simple designs, so seeing a colorful Gabbeh was a shock.

The second piece is a 60x40 Gabbeh rug, the size of a doormat. However, I don't use it in the entranceway; I use it as a rug at the foot of my bed. This position is perfect, and the soft feel of it on my bare feet when I wake up in the morning is incredibly soothing! It can also be used in a variety of ways, such as sitting on the rug with your back to the bed frame and reading a book. It's also great for adding an accent to a bedroom that tends to be simple!

The third picture is a horizontal tribal rug. I've always admired tribal designs, and this is a special rug I'd dreamed of having in my room someday. I finally found the perfect size and price for myself, and added it to my collection last year. I actually wanted to put it in the kitchen, but for now I'm using it in front of my closet.

I bought furniture and rugs with the intention of living alone someday. Once I do, I'm considering buying larger sizes for my dining room.

When that time comes, I will be relying on Layout again to help me find my destiny!
