Hello! This is Fukumoto.
This time, I'd like to tell you about the day I suddenly became obsessed with the charm of Noh masks.
One day, on my way home from work, I came across an image of a Noh mask on social media.
I don't remember the specific content, but the image caught my attention so I took a screenshot instantly.
And for some reason, for the entire journey home, my mind was filled with images of Noh masks.
It's like I'm possessed by something
To digest this, I thought, "I have no choice but to make it once!", so I'd like to try it with food that can be consumed after making it!
This time I'll try making it with a cake.
I've always loved making sweets, but I haven't been making them properly lately.
So, as a reminder to myself that I tend to slack off, I'm going to make it from scratch using a sponge to get myself pumped!
~A few hours later~
Yes! I've skipped a few details and the sponge is now complete!
Now that I have all the ingredients, I'd like to get started right away.

First, while looking at an image of a Noh mask, cut out the outline of the face that will serve as the base.

Next, use the cut-off parts to create bumps and grooves for the nose, forehead, etc.
(The parts you make at this stage are merely the base, so rather than making them finely and delicately, you are simply adding flesh to them.)

It has an Ultraman feel to it...
Once the majority of the shape is complete, we sandwich the strawberries and whipped cream between the pieces to ensure they taste delicious.

Now that we've finished filling the inside, we can move on to sculpting the long-awaited face!
First, use whipped cream as glue to secure the facial features in place.

Once that's fixed, it's time to paint the face white!
At this time, cream is used to smooth out any unevenness, while also creating the bridge of the nose, jawline, and eye hollows.
(I don't have any tools for fine work, so I use a dinner knife.)

It feels good (^^)
And then~
Finally, fill in the face using cream and chocolate pens, etc.
It's finished!!

I've gained a little weight, but I'm okay with that.
The profile is also nicely flat.

Now that I'm satisfied with the Noh mask, the project is complete.
If I feel like it, I'd like to try making something really weird again!
Finally, I would like to end by posting the best shot.

thank you very much!
