Every time I go shopping, I decide, "I'll mainly buy things of this style this time," but when the dealer presses me with, "Why not this one? This one's a nice rug too," I end up saying, "Yeah, you're right, this one looks nice too," and when I actually get to the location, I see one attractive thing after another, and I think, "That person would love this design," or "This color would definitely suit that store!" and all sorts of people's faces pop into my head, and I end up choosing too many, and when I get back to the hotel and check my purchases, I wonder, "Did I really buy this much!?" This happens every day. (Not a good buyer!)
I don't know if it's because the Iranians are good at business, or if I'm just feeling excited and in high spirits, but buying goods is so much fun!! (The buyers are the best!!)
This time, we were helped by Leather in Shiraz.
They picked me up at the airport and first took me to their home where the mini Gabbeh I had ordered was kept.

When I arrived home, I immediately began to inspect the Gabbehs in the room, but I noticed a girl peering into the room. It seemed to be a young girl who had come to take a peek because she was curious about a Japanese person. It's certainly interesting to see a foreigner in your home and see them making a fuss.

Mr. Leather was a very nice person and even showed me around Persepolis, a World Heritage Site in Shiraz, but for some reason the Gabbehs in his shop in the bazaar were not very tasteful (unfortunately!) and did not fit Layout's taste, so I was unable to buy much for him. I felt so sorry because he had been so kind to me, and throughout the visit I kept patting him on the shoulder and saying, "Sorry, Mr. Leather."
Every time I say this, he smiles and says, "It's okay!" Iranian people are really kind.

I feel like I bought it the last time I came here, but... There was something about the atmosphere that seemed different, and I wasn't sure. The interpreter told me, "The people at this store say you've been here before," and when I replied, "That's true, but I had a feeling something was different," they said, "Well, he said your hair's grown more than before, and that you've grown more bangs, so he probably didn't notice."
A hair extension?! I thought people overseas didn't really care, but it turns out that's not the case. Still, just having more hair can really change your look, and I smiled and shook his hand, muttering to myself, "It looks like you've got a long way to go until you've got a full head, but do your best."
