LIFE IS GOOD 02

Things have been getting more and more difficult lately, but that doesn't mean we can just be depressed. People have always found the light and the joy in the midst of difficulties and overcome them little by little.

Now, more than ever, Layout thought it would be a good idea to hear from people who are staying positive despite the changing environment.

Teleworking Girl N's Lifestyle Vol.2

I also have Layout bags for small rugs.

This time, we will be featuring Ms. N, a teleworking woman.
In fact, the rugs in N's room are beautifully styled, and in the second interview we spoke to her about her preferences when choosing rugs and her love for rugs.

Cherish your "favorites"

- Does having a rug in your life make a difference?

Mr. N, that's wrong.
First of all, it's warm. And it feels good. If it's a design you love, it's even more soothing and makes you feel a little more excited every time you see it.

It adds variety to your interior and makes it easier to create the space you want.

- What are your priorities and deciding factors when choosing a rug?

Do you really like Mr. N ?
Rugs aren't an absolute necessity.
That's why I think it's meant to help you love the space even more.
So, while it's important to cherish your encounters, it's also important to feel that you truly love the person and that you can love them for a long time.

- It's true that I often see scenes where you stare intently at Lag and talk to him (laughs).

-By the way, what should I do to get Mr. N to like me? (laughs)

Mr. N, that's a difficult question! I'm an intuitive type. (laughs)
Maybe Mr. Hirai will understand (lol). If there's one thing, it's that color balance and color usage are very important.
Sorry!! lol

-You tend to choose quite unique designs (most of the time), but do you ever think they might be difficult to use?

No, Mr. N. (laughs)
I'm not sure if I can express it well, but in terms of values, it's like an old, rundown shopping street in the midst of a group of cutting-edge high-rise buildings in a big city, or the mixed colors of a developing country.
I'm the type of person who finds beauty in the chaos and distortion that comes from mixing different things together, so I prefer spaces where various things are mixed together rather than places that are neatly organized with one theme.

Also, since it's a collection of things I like, even unique items will surprisingly turn out well and blend in.

Also, unique things are sure to have some interesting or eye-catching element that makes them unique, and that makes them fun because they add an accent to the space and become a focal point in your daily life that stirs emotions.

I'm really worried about whether I can get this question across properly. (laughs)

-In terms of what I like about it, it definitely fits into Mr. N's world.
Is it like when something isn't perfect, or when there's a little bit of playfulness or space in it, you can find something to love about it?
Is that right? I'm worried about whether people will empathize with me... (laughs)

Mr. N, that's exactly right! Thank you for speaking on my behalf.
Playfulness is important, and you can grow to love them for their clumsy nature.

When you get the sense that the creator had fun making the product and cares about it, it can really move you.
This is for all things.

I've strayed from the answer to the first question. (Laughs)

Living with Rugs

- (Sorry for the cliche, but) Why did you decide to put down a rug?

N-san generally doesn't wear slippers at home, but bare feet, and in the winter she wears socks. She originally had a rug in the kitchen, but it was pretty worn out, so she was looking for a rug that was warm and matched the yellow kitchen.

- Were you worried that it might get dirty?

I was worried because I had been using a washable rug until now!
So I consulted with Mr. Maeda and Mr. Hirai.
So, when I heard that they were using it normally, I was relieved! (laughs)

- Yes, I use it all the time. When I cook, it falls onto the rug, but so far there haven't been any problems. My feet don't get tired either.

It's true that the rug has never gotten that dirty before, and although it can't be washed, it can be cared for, and I think that even if it gets a little dirty, it's part of its charm.

I liked the color scheme and the look I got when I combined the two pieces.

- You use it in the dining room too, right?

Mr. N uses it.
Since I started working from home, I've been working in the dining room, and now that autumn has arrived, my feet have been getting cold. I wanted to bring the warmth of the rug I had laid out in the living room to the dining room.

-It doesn't have to be something big, but just having it at your feet makes a big difference in comfort.

It was a design and style I had never imagined, but I couldn't help but feel excited and captivated, so I decided that this was a chance encounter and decided to take it home.

- The most unique person is in the living room.

Mr. N had originally had a rug on the floor, but it had become quite worn out, and as he was spending more time at home, he rearranged the living room to make it more comfortable, which created space for a larger rug, so he started looking for a large rug that he could lounge around on.

- In the living room, do you spend more time on the sofa or on the rug? And when do you spend time on the rug?

Mr. N: Up until now I've always been on the sofa, but now I spend most of my time on the rug! I've started stretching, but it's also easier to maintain good posture than on the sofa, and it feels great to be able to stretch out my arms and legs and lie around.

I spend my evenings relaxing on the rug.
You can watch TV or movies, stretch, read a book, or eat a snack on the rug.
On my days off, I spend most of the day on the rug. (laughs)

I really liked the cool and intricate design, which has a cosmic feel like a school of sardines, and almost makes you feel like you're in the cycle of reincarnation.

- There's a cute girl at the entrance too.

Mr. N: I had carpet here originally, but I wasn't really happy with it.
Because I found my favorite.

The reason we put it down is because when you come home, it feels good to take your first steps on a soft rug after taking off your shoes.

- That's right! I can see why you feel relaxed the first time you take a step home (laughs).

I thought it was nice to have birds and animals welcoming and seeing us off at the entrance.

- Are there any other places where you have rugs?

This is at Mr. N's bedside and in front of the closet.
There was originally a carpet on the bedside table, but it was pretty worn out.
The reason I put one down is because it feels completely different when you wake up in the morning and step on a cold floor than on a soft, warm rug.

Camel love at first sight.
We stared at each other for a long time, not caring about who was watching us.

The geometric tribal design was also love at first sight.
I really liked the exquisite slightly vivid purple, orange and green colors!

Added to the front of the closet.
I love fashion, and I like to spend more time thinking about the clothes, shoes, and accessories I wear than most people. So I want to make that time more comfortable and enjoyable.
Also, when I put on my shoes in front of the mirror and think about my outfit, I feel a little uneasy about standing on the floor with my shoes on, so I put a rug down.

Not only that, but this rug is also located in front of the ironing board, making it comfortable to iron on.

- You're always so stylish, it's a hot topic among the staff!

Mr. N , what can I say? Sorry, but thank you. I'm so happy!

By the way, my wife used a wool Persian carpet as an ironing board and sat on top of the Gabbeh carpet while ironing.
Apparently it releases steam well...

Your wife is so lovely!! I want to do the same! I'd love to meet your wife too!!! (lol)

- I have to ask this because of my job...
Is it better to have a lag when working from home?

I think it would be better if Mr. N was there.
Since you'll be at home all day, it makes your heart happier if the space you spend that long time in is comfortable and filled with things you like.

- Just imagine, if you were to recommend a rug to a colleague who is working from home, how would you recommend it?
And where would you recommend placing the rug first?

I think it's a Gabbeh for Mr. N's chair. It's easy to feel the quality when you use it.
The price is reasonable, and unlike just touching it in the store, it's much more comfortable to sit on, you won't get tired easily, and it also makes a great accent piece for your interior, so if you find a design you like, it's definitely worth buying!!

That's how it feels. (laughs)

- Thank you (laughs)

-Finally, please tell us why you got hooked on rugs.

Mr. N has always loved rugs and had actually been looking for one for a long time.
However, I really hadn't found anything that I really liked. (Of course, there are nice things like Persian carpets, but they are expensive and out of my reach.)

That all changed when I discovered Layout.
I found what I was looking for.

I think it's because they have rugs with designs that I like and at prices that I can afford, and most importantly, the staff at Layout are happy to help me find things that I like.

- Yes, Layout staff are good at showing more than necessary and confusing customers.
If possible, I want to show you everything! (laughs)

Mr. N, that's the best part!!
There is no other store that takes so much time to show you so much!!

-Please say more! (laughs)
