Play, work

"Ape Maesato Vol.2 The window is a little bit narrow."

Did you know?
"Totto-chan at the Window" is a book written by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, who is well known for her onion-shaped hair.
This is the biggest super best-selling work since the war, and it chronicles Kuroyanagi's own childhood.

Yes, the title of this blog is taken from that.

Should I give up on fashion?

The house we moved into in March is quite unique and I like it, but after living there for about a month, one thing that's a bit disappointing is that it's cold.
Because the walls are bare concrete and the entrance, kitchen, dining room, and living room are all connected without any partitions, the single air conditioner installed in the living room is clearly not powerful enough.
During the period when I was living alone due to my son's school schedule, I spent many nights alone and in silence with a cold nose.
It is said that fashion comes from patience, but do stylish properties also require patience?

The window is a bit...

This stylish property has many small windows in the living room and bedroom, but there are screens on the inside of the small wire-pane windows, which, combined with the curtain rail above the window, creates a rather disappointing appearance.
That's right! "It's just a little bit by the window!"
By the way, wired glass is used to prevent glass from shattering, but it is also required by the Building Standards Act.

The grey screen on the wired glass gives it a cold feel.

First, the bedroom

To solve the problem of the window being unsightly, I considered removing the screen along with the curtain rail, but I felt that the screen would probably play an important role in the summer, so I decided to make a textile panel using leftover curtain fabric.
However, since the window lets in so much light, it would be a waste to block it! I decided to try using a lace textile panel, which I haven't seen much before.
Each small window is a different size, so let's start with the bedroom.

I don't plan on using curtains so I'll remove the curtain rail.

DIY

This time, I had the hardware store cut the wood to fit the size of the screen door frame, then roughly created the frame by simply gluing the pieces together with glue, and then spray painted it white.
It was so rough that it sometimes broke, but I'll go with a loose feel.

There is no need to cut the edges at an angle; the wood is simply glued together.

Once the frame was dry, I cut the leftover lace curtain fabric to the appropriate size and secured it to the frame with a stapler, but since the lace curtain I was using had a vertical pattern, I secured both vertical sides first.
Adjust the tension so that the pattern of the thin, soft fabric does not become distorted, and secure it on the sides as well. Cut off the excess fabric with a cutter and it's finished.
I always think that towards the end of a DIY project, you get the hang of it and become better at it...

If you don't look at the details, it's pretty good, isn't it?

Attention to detail is important

I immediately attached it to the screen door frame using double-sided tape, but to prevent it from sticking when I remove it, I put masking tape on the frame and then secured the textile panel on top of that using double-sided tape.
We take great care to avoid any regrets when moving.
I stuck it to the frame of the screen door, so it opens and closes properly and is very functional!

The soft light coming in is a nice touch.
It may soon be released as a stylish screen door!

In other words…

DIY is all about self-satisfaction.
If you think it's good, it's a great success, and you don't have to worry about the quality.

In other words, "A window seat is good too!"

Sweet dreams, me

Well then!
