Rag and Camel

It's been a while! This is Hirai.

It rains on and off every day.

This year has been a humid one day after another, and the plants in Layout are feeling sluggish.
It's so hot that mushrooms are starting to grow...

Although the wool in the rug has moisture-regulating properties, the humidity this year has been quite tough and the sheep smell can be a bit of a concern.
(The store manager told me that using a dehumidifier helps reduce the smell!)

I just hope that summer-like days will come soon for the sake of the rugs!

Summer is here and it's time to get your rugs cleaned!!
Rugs dry quickly on hot, dry days, so if you're thinking about giving your rug a wash and giving it a fresh start, now's your chance.
This page also introduces cleaning, so if you're interested, please check it out!

Craftsmen from Iran will wash your clothes in Japan using the same machines and items as they do in their home country.

At Layout, we always have our rugs cleaned before sending them to Japan.
This time, I would like to show you a little bit about how rugs are washed locally in a video!

I think this is a machine that taps the rug, and it is used to remove dust from inside the rug.

The craftsman in white boots who operates this machine with such ease is of course impressive, but what I like most about him is the adorable demeanor of the craftsman spraying water with the green hose.
I later realized that it takes a surprising amount of skill to spray water in the right place with a hose.

If you have any questions about rug maintenance, please feel free to contact us anytime!

See you next time!
