Daily Life Seen from the Interior Vol.1

A serial blog by Hiroki Sueyoshi of FAH Co., Ltd.

First, let me explain how I came to write this blog.

The other day, while I was getting ready for the morning, watching the news about the difficult situation caused by the coronavirus, I received a message from Maeda from Layout asking me to write a serialized blog.

That day was day 0 of my independence.

In other words, they want me, who has no track record or achievements, to write a ``serial blog.''

We've been friends for almost 10 years, so I always thought he was an oddball, but this confirmed to me that he really is an oddball.

Of course, I immediately replied, "I'll do it!" After becoming independent, I realized how happy it was to be needed.

Let's do it.

However, I have never written a proper blog.

He suddenly said something selfish.

"Please give me a topic"

When it comes time to write, I don't know what to write.

I received a reply from Maeda.

Write down your thoughts on interior design.

Now, let's get to the main topic.

Thoughts on interior design

First of all, I thought about what "interior design" is.

I think that in general, people often think that "interior" means "furniture."

I don't think this is a mistake though...

Personally,
"Everything in the house (space)"
I think so.

Shoes left behind.
I just hung my jacket on a chair for now.
A blissful beer on the table.
A solar-powered hula dancing doll that I received as a souvenir.
Nostalgic photos that bring back memories of the past.
For some reason, I can't bring myself to throw away this cushion that I've been using for many years.

The interior reflects the person's life.
Interiors reveal so much about a person that it almost feels like fortune telling is actually possible.
(I'd like to play a game someday where you look at a room and guess what the person looks like.)

By creating your ideal space and aiming for it
"Happy Living"
I believe you will be able to obtain it.

Of course, life doesn't just happen at home.
I also love camping and traveling.

Nowadays, there is an emerging trend of living without a fixed home.

However, I feel most relaxed when I'm at home.
I like staying at home the most.

If you include sleeping, you probably spend half your life at home.

In the case of a house, it is not only the hobbies and thoughts of the people who live there,
What kind of life have you been living up until now?
What kind of life do you want to live from now on?
It will naturally appear in your interior.

Being in a comfortable interior
Living at home becomes more comfortable.
That's what I think.

In other words…

I think that "thinking about interior design" means "thinking about living in a home (space)."

Recently, I've been thinking a lot about what happiness is.

Of course, the definition varies from person to person.

If you think your home is important, I would encourage you to make the most of your interior.

Now that the era of high economic growth has ended.
To spend your time in life more meaningfully,
I think home is very important.

The joy of living in a comfortable space.

Of course, my favorite furniture.
Photos, art, plants, curtains, rugs, etc.
I believe that every item in the home has the power to enrich your time at home.

In a sense,
More than the house itself
I believe that interior design has a big impact on the time we spend at home.

for example…
When I woke up in the morning, I looked at my favorite wall clock.
I sit in my favorite chair and eat breakfast using plates that I've used for years.

The day our new table arrived, my child scratched it.
20 years later,
When this child grows up and becomes an adult,
He looked at the scratches on the table and said, "That's the scratch you made the day you arrived."
He says with a laugh.

I think this kind of life is "happy."

It's fine to start with just one thing,
I want you to experience living in a home filled with your favorite things.

And we want you to spend as much time as possible with your favorite items.

When thinking about interior design,
Think about life at home.
Family time. Alone time. Time with loved ones.

In the house (space),
People. Things. Time. Air.

Everything is interior.

I would like to continue spreading the appeal of interior design so that as many people as possible can be happy through it.
