TK's daily life

Happy New Year🗻

The year 2022 has begun, marking the arrival of the Year of the Tiger.
Have you decided on your goals for this year?
Every year, the first thing I resolve to do at the beginning of the year is to live a careful, comfortable, and peaceful life.

And yet, at the end of the year, I find myself busy cleaning the house with my hair in disarray. Why? It's a mystery I'll never be able to solve.
This may be my theme in this life.

So, I'd like to sneak in and introduce to you the routine that I do every year before the New Year. You may not be interested, but I only have a short time, so please bear with me.

Boom boom!

First, I thoroughly wash the pots, cutlery, knives, and other items I use often in preparation for New Year's, and then I start by letting them soak in the sun. I cook the same things every year during the first three days of the year, so the items I use are set. However, when it comes to my favorite dishes, I always choose a main dish to use every year. This year, I'm going for something a little more modest...

This is my favorite cutlery case that I've been using for over 10 years. If I remember correctly, it was made in Spain. It was a gift from my Danish boss at a previous workplace. It followed me everywhere I went. Thank you!
I'm thinking about buying a new knife soon. Any recommendations?

Now, next
This is the main event that only appears during the New Year.
Actually, I have a Meiji-era Satsuma-yaki soup bowl that I received from my grandmother, and it's a family heirloom. I only use it during New Year's. I can't use it on a daily basis.
This should be dried in the shade, just like a rug.

Oh no! I forgot to wash the toso bowl.

In fact, I am also a tenugui collector.
When cleaning, I use tenugui towels for various purposes, such as wrapping them around my hair and saying "Arayo!", using them as dust rags, wiping dishes, etc. I also sometimes use them as furoshiki wrapping cloths to store dishes. I never do the loach scooping dance with them.
It's a great tenugui. (Is this a preview of something?!)

That's how it is, but when the day comes, instead of spending it carefully, it's a hectic time, and every year the New Year's resolutions I set on New Year's Day fall apart by the third day.
Far from being empty, the place was in high spirits after drinking alcohol.
Finally, I would like to present a sheep that depicts me in a good mood while drinking alcohol.

Polite? Gentle? What's that?

If you have the opportunity, please let us know your goals for this year.
Well, until next time...
