"Let's sing spring in the castle in the sky"

Following on from the "Nausicaa Rug" that I, Komatsu, introduced last time, I have once again unearthed a rug that evokes the worldview of the great master Hayao Miyazaki.

Yes, it would be more appropriate to praise this magnificent pattern, with its unusual color scheme and sense of story, as something that has not just been discovered, but excavated.

Tales of the Valley of the Wind and the Sky

Previously, I used this rug.

She confessed that when she finds a brown and turquoise geometric pattern, she calls it "Nausicaa-chan" and adores it, but from the moment she found this rug, she naturally started calling it "Laputa-chan."
Yes, it's a rug that gives you the illusion that you've wandered into the gardens of Laputa, the legendary island in the sky, rather than Nausicaä. (If you're not familiar with Laputa: Castle in the Sky, please use your imagination as you read on.)

Winged Country

So, I, Komatsu, would like to invite you all to Laputa: Castle in the Sky.

"The Winged Country" is a huge city built by a clan that hated war and fled to the sky during a time of flourishing civilization.

Yes, this rug also features many winged birds.
And above all, what catches your eye is the sky blue color of the flying stone, which was only allowed to be possessed by the family that could indicate the location of Laputa.
The jewel I dreamed of in my childhood was a flying stone pendant. There was a time when I was a little girl and I dreamed of the day when my grandmother would hand me a pendant that would send rays of light into the sky, saying, "Don't tell anyone. The truth is, in our family..."

Flying Stone

What does the brown pattern in the middle look like?
I imagine a giant tree growing in the middle of Laputa, towering over the landscape.
The beige pattern inside is probably an annual ring, or perhaps a pattern running through the trunk of a giant tree, so it's quite mysterious.

In the story, a giant flying stone crystal is covered with tree roots and supports an island in the sky, and the blue and brown in the center increasingly seem to represent the relationship between the flying stone and the giant tree.

The trees are full of flowers and the birds are singing.

Imagine this.
There's a giant tree growing here.
Even the famous John Lennon said, "Just imagine."
Whoever can imagine it wins. That's why I loudly and proudly declare that this rug is "Laputa-chan."

Kind-hearted Giant God Warrior

In the gardens of Laputa, there is a giant robot carrying a bird on its shoulder and interacting with animals.
Although they were built as fighter planes, the last one in the garden seems very happy surrounded by nature.
He spends his time patrolling bird nests and placing flowers on the graves of his friends.

The pink frame and pink flowers remind me of the tender scene in the story where the Giant God Warrior offers the protagonist a single pink flower.
It's one of my favorite scenes and it really warms my heart.

The protagonist says that in the valley where he lives there is a song that goes, "Let's take root in the earth and live with the wind. Let's survive winter with the seeds and sing of spring with the birds."
People cannot live apart from the soil.

The cherry blossoms have fallen, but spring has arrived.
Even though wearing a mask has become a necessity every day, spring will come to everyone equally.

Is this forced?
Well, it's different for each person. For me it's my own. I want everyone to experience their own unique view of the world of Laputa-chan.
The famous Buddha also said, "Look, the world is beautiful."
It's okay to feel the world through a rug.
Is this forced?

Two and a half minutes is delicious though

Finally, as a side note, there is a line in the latter half of the story where the man with glasses says to the protagonist in a bossy manner, "I'll give you three minutes."
Three minutes? Something reminds me? Maybe... No, wait... I thought so...

The bowl mark was also there.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
